Muted tones of pre-pubescent girls
clad in whispers of pink
and ghostly tights
Pointing, springing, arching,
fingers dancing
Bending the future
to their will.
Lovely! I’m contemplating a dance prompt for Carrot Ranch because I’ve had ballet on my mind lately! Both my son and daughter studied and my daughter (26) is a science writer and a ballet instructor. Isn’t that a wonderful combination? Your verse takes me backstage. :-)
Thanks, Charli. Strange how sometimes we’re a mass consciousness. Our 5 year old has started a class here and I wrote this while waiting for her. Kate L and Raishimi (Twitter) have both had ballet on their minds recently and there was a Guardian piece about a troubled Ukrainian dancer this week.
